Main goal of this project is the development of a flying unmanned aerial vehicle used to rescue drowning people, aimed at increasing safety on the oceans and seas. The solution will consist of a hand-held launcher and a homing unmanned aerial vehicle. The unmanned aerial vehicle will be propelled by a solid fuel rocket engine (paraffin/N2O), and guided by a thermal imaging camera located in the front gimbal. Using this camera, the device will find drowning people and then deliver to them a self-inflating life raft, inflated by a chemical gas generator providing warmth to protect against hypothermia.
